Dear Gardeners:
We have been working with friends at a tissue culture lab experim=enting
with arisaema over the last few years. The first batch from the lab was
planted out here in ground beds on 6/1/2002. They are finally in flower
3/20/2004 (A. serratum). While tissue culture still won't make arisaemas
more economical since it still takes two growing seasons to produce
flowering size plants, it will allow the reproduction of special clones
that are too slow to offset. We have several clones already in the
pipeline, so stay tuned in the next few years.
