Eric,

Most species from section Arisaema are able to produce 2 leaves and I hav=e
seen plenty in the wild with 2 leaves. Intermedium is only variable in co=lour
of the flower (from purplish to almost white but usually plain green) and=
length of the spathe tip. In this case the length of the spathe tip is co=nform
what was known as forma biflaggelatum, a form which usually occurs at the=
Eastern boundary of its distribution range in E Nepal and West Bengal. To=
my knowledge intermedium is never auruiculate.
