Subject: pollinating with oil?

I have just germinated seeds of a half dozen packets of Sarracenia crosse=s
that I bought at the Western Winter Study Weekend in Vancouver in March.
I decided I had better check growing requirements, so I looked on
pitcherplant.org. They show pictures of someone pollinating an endangere=d
Sarracenia, using toothpicks dipped in vegetable oil so the pollen will
adhere. I wonder if that would work with Arisaema. It would be easier
than pouring in water.
