Jim,
According to Google:
Department of Botany of the University of Pr=E9toria
The Department of Botany, directed by Pr Albert Eicker, includes a dozen
professors and lecturers and very many students in thesis and master.
The subjects of research relate to:
the interactions indigenous plants - pathogenic
reproduction of the plants with seeds
the insulation and identification of active compounds starting from
medicinal plants
the study of the transitory plants of Namaqualand (desert area of the
North-West), single by its
diversity
the dynamics and conservation of the vegetation of the Kalahari Desert
the phytosociology of savanna
the systematic one and the biogeography of the flora of Southern Africa.=
The Department has many publications, primarily in South African J of=Botany.
Research is especially descriptive, but of quality and adapted well to the
needs for South Africa.
