HI Everyone
In the last season, the growing tip of my mature (3 or 4 year old) A.
sikokianum rotted as it was coming out of the soil, like what Andy was
saying about "terminal damage". I kept it very dry for a whole season. It
has now produced two small offsets on the side while most of the parent
tuber got eaten away by the fungus. Apart from these two offsets it never
divided.
>From all the discussion so far, could it be that some strains in cultivation
at just "fitter" than others since a lot of the material cultivated
originate from only a limited number of wild stocks.
