Ray,
If the above statement is true then I have an anomoly........ I have had
seed set on a single flower of Arisaema flavum last year when there were =no
other Arisaemas out. In fact, I have never yet had an Arisaema flavum
that did not set seed, be it alone or with another plant. The single
flower I had last year on A. candidissimum, again well separated from any
others (the two flower some months apart here), set seed as well.
I have not sent in seed of either of these species to the AEG as I have
assumed that they are rather plentiful coming into the seed exchange. I
might take this opportunity to ask whether I should have? What is the
minimum amount of a species that is worthwhile sending in? Those of us w=ho
are really only just starting out may only get a dozen seed off a
plant..... is it worth sending that in if there is just candidissimum and
flavum? I would also ask whether seed of Arum, Pinellia species is of
interest or not? I know they can be discussed here, but I do not know
about the exchange. I hope you don't mind me asking, but I thought it wa=s
an ideal time to clear these questions up as I definitely have some seed =of
a couple of Arum species that I have just harvested and I think I have so=me
A. candidissimum seed as well.
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers.
