How common are morphological aberrations in arisaemas? - this is the
first I've ever seen, either in cultivation or in the wild. My A.
candidissimum 'album' (a Chen Yi plant 2-3 years ago, colour brown and
green with the white candidissimum stripes through it) has produced a
normal tripartite leaf, a normal spathe and an extra leaf-type structure
which has the form of a spathe but opened out flat, except that it has a
leaf midrib and markings which mimic the spathe but with white stripes
branching from the midrib. OK, difficult to describe and even more
difficult to visualise I expect!
