Howdy All,

The discussion on seed sowing has been very interesting to see the
differences to my own methods as I outlined in an early email. All the
"corrections" to my method (and I don't mean that in any form of criticis=m,
just people outlining how their methods differ from mine) add up to more
knowledge for the types which DON'T work and need a different technique t=o
be successful.

As we've been discussing seed sowing techniques I would like to just chec=k
if there is anything specific needed for germinating Biarum seed. I've
checked and Biarum is within the scope of this list so I thought I would
ask. I have recently (yesterday) sown my first Biarum seed (B. dispar) a=nd
I am wondering how I should be treating them temperature-wise. I know th=at
the Arisaemas seem to beneift from being inside in the terrarium, but I a=m
fairly sure that Arum need to cold to germinate. I am assuming that Biar=um
fall into the similar category as Arum given the apearance of their seeds=,
but I would like to check as I figure that others out there have experien=ce
with them. I have so far had dismal failure with Arum germination so I
don't know what I am doing wrong (I'm hoping that some might germinate so=on
though as most of the Arums are surfacing so I figure that the seed might
start now as well?).

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers.
