Paul,

Categorizing your collection isn't a matter of age so much as it is the
state of the plant.
Seedlings which have never experienced one winter are at great jeopardy,
immature tubers
that have only one winter under their belt are at some jeopardy as well,
mature tubers
have wintered at least twice and attained some size.

Hard to imagine buying anything but a mature tuber although it does
happen.
One can also buy "Blooming Sized" tubers which will bloom the season
their bought an perhaps
even set seed. But, until they bloom for you, call them mature.

The reason for the categorization is to eliminate seedlings from the
"Who's Got Wot?" list
and to have information available to find potential sources of seed for
each species should
a member inquire about who they might contact. So just apply common sense
in
categorizing your collection.
