<< There are two important publications on the way. First there is the En=glish

version of Flora of China by Li Heng. That will give us the state-of-the-=art

in Chinese Arisaema taxonomy. Whether we believe what's in there or not,

it's all we have, so folks, we'll have to live with that. Then there will=be

the Flora Malesiana Araceae treatment in which Jin Murata will cover

Arisaema. This will include a fresh look on the taxonomy of the more

tropical Arisaema, a topic no-one else has covered for many decades. The

Japanese ones have been covered already by Jin Murata in the past, so we'=re

not that bad off in the end.

I'd like to to add a third forthcoming publication to the list. Although =not
a formally trained taxonomist, Guy Gusman is recognized by most of us as
having extensive knowledge of the genus Arisaema, and I was delighted to =hear
recently from John Grimshaw that he is editing a book on Arisaema written=by
Guy, which is to be published by the Alpine Garden Society in the near
future. Guy has been my "guru" on the genus for the past four years, and =this
book will certainly fill a gap that exists about one of the favorite gene=ra
of woodland and alpine gardeners. Good news!!!
