Jim,
I get Cannas, Colocasias, and other 'semitropicals' to regrow after outdo=or
winter dormancy here in New Jersey by covering over with about a foot of
dairy cow manure. In late Spring, boy, do they regrow!

Hi Paul, Gene, Kathy, and all,

Yes, this is the same Jim Shields from the Bulb Forum. I'm happy to
encounter some familiar names here too.

How much cold do Zantedeschia aethiopica and albomaculata survive? If
there are forms growing high enough in the South African Drakensberg, the=re
might be saome strains that will take USDA zone 5 or at least zone 6
winters... Has anyone tried these in cold climates?

I have not attempted searching the archives yet -- is there a web interfa=ce
to them?

Regards,
Jim Shields
