It's different for AOL and Micro$oft than with decent E-mail programs and
ISPs.
Usually there is a place in the top banner to set your preferences. They
can be
set to "Plain Text" or ASCII in most programs, but AOL is a bear. I
haven't found out
how to do that yet. It's hard because I don't and won't use AOL for
anything. So
I'm dependant on those who do.

If there's anyone on the list using AOL who can tell us how to get rid of
the HTML
coding in E-mail, please help. Most of the users need a "step-by-step' to
get it done.
AOL help desk is no help, as usual. I don't think they know how to do it
either.

The best solution is to abandon AOL and M$ and use an ISP like AT&T
Worldnet.
They give you unlimited access + long distance phone service (7 cents a
minute anywhere
in the US) all for $7.00 a month. Bet you pay much more than that for
AOL.

The best browser, Netscape, can be downloaded and installed for free. The
best E-mail
program, Eudora, can be downloaded and installed for free (in the Eudora
Lite form).
Both will use Worldnet as the ISP, but they avoid all the cr-- on the
portal.
No more having to log on the web to do E-mail. Just click on Eudora and
it will go get the mail
and present it to you or send it for you.

Once you've done these things, you have complete control of what you're
doing.
No more "Yes, Massa Micro$oft or Yes, Massa AOL".
