I share Nancy's experience with squirrels. It's so bad that I made screen
covers for the nursery beds.
The buggers won't eat the tubers, just dig them out and throw them all
over the place. You can
replant them, but you'll have to wait for them to bloom to identify them.
Even then, the source information
is gone forever.

So far, knock wood, we haven't been bothered by voles, but moles - I
think we have a corner on the market.
However, aside from the occasional tunnel that upturns a tuber, they
don't bother tubers only grubs.
Even slugs have not done much damage to our Arisaema. They sure love to
eat the
Prunus laurocerasus though.
