That method interests me and I will give it a try. I have enough to
experiment a little. The infructescence is just sitting in a cool room a=nd
they are ripening on their own quite well. Will you germinate yours in t=he
paper towel or will you stratify them in a cooler first? My work with A.
triphyllum showed me that a 90 day cold/moist stratification process of t=he
ripe seed provided germination w/in 14 days when they were planted in soi=l
and put on a mist bench. I am assuming this technique will work well for
the sikokianum as well...?...

The "seedlets" I harvested 10 days ago and soaked for 3 days, have now
been in a damp paper towel in a plastic baggie at room temperature for 1
week now. They have some surrounding berry tissue still around them. It
was hard to remove it all, especially around the seed base where it joins
to the spadix.
They are still firm to the touch and pale yellow to pale yellow green.
Survival appears more promising.
Perhaps this method may interest Mike Bosold and his sikokianum cobs.
