BWM asks: Is this genetic determination [of Cannabis sex] cytologically
assessable?
The sex chromosomes of Cannabis sativa, the only species in the genus
Cannabis, where first observed by Hirata (1924). They were later
photographed by Yamada (1943) in somatic cells of both sexes, the
Y-chromosome is the largest, and both X and Y are larger than the
autosomes.
