I'd like to express my thanks to contributors and organisers of the seed
exchange - having created a bit of space in the garden, I've just been
planting out the results of the seed I received and germinated in 1998.
I gave them no special treatment or forcing at all except that they have
always been under cover but unprotected from frosts (down to -10 degsC
in the west of Scotland), and 5 of the 9 species are flowering for the
first time this spring. It's wonderful to see tiny sikokianum and
serratum in bloom, they make very attractive little groups.

in bloom -
sikokianum (McClements)
serratum (Diebold)
penninsulae Aik150 (Avent)
consanguineum biradiatifolium (Gusman)
limbatum v. aequinoctale (Gusman)

in leaf -
amurense (Denny)
amurense v. amurense (Gouda)
heterophyllum (McClements)

Thanks everyone, much appreciated!
Anne
