Hello Arisaemaphiles! Grin.

I just got finished potting on survivors from my refrigerator, and thought
I would share the results with the group.

I started out in 1996 with 4 A. triphyllum (purchased from a mail order
nursery) and 4 A. sikokianum seedlings. (Traded in an exchange for
Meconopsis seedlings)

Of the original A. Triphyllum, 2 succumbed to rust the first year. All 4
A. sikokianum survived into 1998. Winter 1998 was my first year
participating in the AEG Seed Exchange. Unfortunately, my record keeping
was a little sloppy, so I cannot tell which plants of the survivors came
from the 1998 seed crop or the 1999 seed crop. I lost one of the
sikokianums from winter rot in 1999, but had many more new seedlings from
the AEG Seed Exchange. Unfortunately, all but one sikokianum has rotted
this winter. I think I planted one sikokianum and one triphyllum outside,
but we are still buried in a foot of snow, so it will be some months before
I know if they survived. Sigh.

Here is the complete list of survivors:

A. amurense amurense = 6
A. amurense v. denticulatum = 3
A. aff ciliatum ex Yunnan RH101105 = 1
A. consanguineum = 2
A. flavum = 10 (these came out of dormancy in the refrigerator very early.
I didn't catch it, and they became very etiolated)
A. flavissimum? = 6 (the label faded and I can't quite read it. I do not
know if this is a valid name, but it is the closest to the scribbles that
remain)
A. heterophyllum = 3
A. peninsulae AIK 183 = 6
A. ringens = 2
A. sazensoo = 1
A. serratum = 3 (many rotted)
A. sikokianum = 1 ( all others rotted, about 12 total mortality ) :-(
A. triphyllum = 6 large, 9 small ( I would have had more but an
unfortunate accident last summer destroyed a whole flat of babies)
1 unknown with no label that may be A. flavum dwarf form.

Some of these survivors will be planted outside this year. With a bit of
luck next winter will be as mild as this one has been temperature-wise.

I'm looking forward to the seed exchange. Thanks to all the folks who
donate seed and do the work to send it out!
