An interesting article on how plants protect themselves from freezing in =the
12/99-1/00 issue of Natural History magazine, pg. 30-31 - "Frozen Assets".
Could this be why some tubers stored dry in the fridge seem to "sweat"?
I found tortuosum to be a great rotter in any form of potting or storage =in cold
conditions, wet or dry, so now they sit out room temperature with my
Amorphophallus and Sauromatums.
I've written about this before and am trying it with several other specie=s. Too
early to tell yet the results of this experiment, but I will report on it=when
dormancy breaks (if it does).
