Merry Christmas Arisaema Lovers.
This should be a great year. Beautiful spathes, sturdy plants, and lots
of seeds.
I broke down and planted some Zantedeschia indoors this year. Z.
aethiopica is up nearly
a foot tall, Z. a. 'Green Goddess' is up a couple of inches, and Z. a.
'Childsiana' is sulking
so far.
There's also some Gardenia thunbergii with 4 sets of leaves, Pavetta
lanceolata in the
same state, and Indigofera frutescens now nearly 18" tall - all from
Kirstenbosch in
South Africa.
The Zantedeschia I can plant out in the spring, but the rest are too
tender for here.
They'll last outside until next fall. Then we'll see what to do. Perhaps
they'll
join the Cocoloba uvifera and the Carissa macrocarpa 'Boxwood Beauty'
from
Sapphire Bay, St. Thomas, VI. More to lug in every fall. Maybe not.
Have a happy New Year and look forward to Craig's Seedex 2001. Better
send him some
Christmas Cheer in the form of seeds. He sounds like he's in need up
there.
Many thanks to Craig Stubbs for running the Seedex. It's a big job.
Thanks to Eric Gouda for giving us
Arisaema-L and his superb Arisaema Page.
Thanks especially to Roy Herold for a most wonderful Arisaema Page.
And, thank you all for sharing your questions and your knowledge with us
all.
