Chen Yi A-82 (1999/00)

Peoples,

There may be a complication here with Chen Yi numbers. I got material from
her that she offered as late as early this year and this was material she
had not included in the first 1999-2000 list. Unfortunately it turned out
that she had re-used a few numbers low in the 80's again!!! MY A-82 is a
rhizomatous species, probably Ar. rhizomatum or like. I guess we DO need a
picture to identify Jim's plant. My A-81 turns out to be Ar. asperatum or
Ar. bonatianum (haven't made up my mind yet, waiting for some additional
literature on these species).
A-83 is an evergreen rhizomatous species of the alliance of Ar.
calcareum/grapsospadix. Again we are faced with the horrors of inconsequent
numbering etc. I have had quite some of Chen Yi's plants flowering and will
make up a list with ID's and will try to be as clear as possible as to what
numbers they are. When they are scanned I'll ask Roy Herold to put them on
his website for viewing.

Cheers,
Wilbert
