The second wave of arisaemas is emerging, and there are some interesting
results, with some still to be seen.

"A. candidissimum var?" and "A. candidissimum var 2" (I'm sorry, I don't =have
the catalog numbers from the supplemental lists) are both glorious PURE W=HITE
(no pink) A. candidissimums. They differ slightly in that the appendage i=s
darker in one, and that in the other the flower was open before the leaf
emerged.

The A. candidissimums labeled "white" and "red" are up with large stems b=ut
not far enough along to see anything flowering. A.c."pink" has yet to app=ear.

A. bathycoleum is just opening a green spathe. It has a single tripartite
leaf. I don't believe that the appendage is going to be as long as is
illustrated in the Flora.

"Sp #12" is up, but too soon to see if they will flower. Same is true of ="Sp
#1" which we were all calling A. saxatile last year. I believe.

Anyone else seeing these yet?

Jim McClements
