Many of you know that Greg Ruckert publishes "Areae Journal" quarterly.
The latest
issue (December 1998) is wonderful. The color pictures are great, the
article
"Araceae Endemism in the Gaoligongshan Area" jointly authored by Greg and
Li Heng
offers a really interesting insight into the experience of plant
exploration. It also
introduces you to over 30 Arisaema species, many of which are new and
still unpublished
waiting for their characteristics to be further defined.

I highly recommend a subscription for AEG members using E-mail. You can
subscribe
to the Journal at cost, $5.00/copy plus postage. Greg generously
contributes copies to AEGers still on Snail-Mail.

Greg also sent me a prospectus for his 1999 Botanical Expedition to
China. To join it,
you must arrive in Kunming on June 27, 1999 and will depart on August 1,
1999. The
cost will be $4100 each plus some misc. small fees and travel insurance.

The proposed itinerary includes collecting in many areas rich in
Arisaema. It sounds
