Here's the first report on AEG seed germination. Nancy Greenwood says:
"I'm just writing to thank you again, as well as Craig and others who
donated and otherwise helped, for the seed distribution. I have had
wonderful germation percentages, in moist paper towers, from all spp.
received, plus A. lutea from the HPS/MAG seed list (Jack Potter
submission in N.Y.), with the exception of A. euxiuum (Peters), which
were dark and shriveled on arrival, and evidence no swelling or other
signs of germination, having been put in the towels on 2/10/99. In
contrast, A. flavum (Dombrauskas) and the giant form of same (Herold)
have a single leaf, a nice striped stem, and appear uniform in growth
habit and robustness. All of the germinated spp. are potted up and under
lights, with A. sikkokianum in leaf, and several of the others emerging
now. As you can tell, I love to watch seeds germinate and grow."
Let's here from the rest of y'all.
