Thanks for the advice on turface sources, Doug. However I have never
seen our fuel oil delivery man with the stuff. He usually just deposits
the oil on the road without any worries. However I do remember buying
some stuff when I used to grow succulents that might be the answer. Good
for adding aeration/drainage to composts and good ion exchange
properties. I am sure it is still sitting in a bag somewhere.

Does anyone have any good tips for germinating Arum seed or do they
require more cycles and patience than Arisaema?
