Dear All

I have been off Arisaema-L for a few too many months as I have
been having a house built. What with work and house, I haven't
had time for much else! The house is nearly finished and sanity is
returning. I am looking forward to establishing my new garden,
though it may be some time before there is enough shade for
Arisaema and other woodlanders.

It is spring here in New Zealand and I have a number of what I call
the first flush of Arisaema is flower, namely A. ringens, A. griffithii,
A. nepenthoides, A. yamatense, A. serratum, A. sikokianum, A.
taiwanense and A. amurense. For those who don't know me, I live
in what most would call a relatively mild climate (Zone 8 or 9, I
guess) and so most of my Arisaema are grown outside, but I do
have a few subtropical and tropical species in a glasshouse. I find
Arisaema they do much better in the ground than in pots - less
problems with excess water and rots - so I try to get them into the
ground as soon as they are big enough.

More from me later

Kind regards

Eric Walton
