You asked about the hardiness of Pinellia pedatisecta. It has been fine
here for more than 15 years and through a wide variety of winter
conditions. As I remember, it is not an early riser in the spring. Migh=t
be that I don't notice it then. I do appreciate its willingness to take
the stage mid- through late summer when everything else in the bed (Anemo=ne
nemorosa, Arisarum, Scilla, etc.) has gone down. It is a dainty
filler-inner for the doldrums of summer.
BTW We tend to have less snow cover than Ellen, less moderation from the
lake and frosts which come earlier in the Fall and, I think, later in the
spring. If you are Zone IV as we tend to be, you still should have no
problem with this one.
