The "concise" paperback that I have contains all (315) the line drawings
from the original and 690 (all) the color photographs. The copy I
have has printed on the back cover
"the descriptions in the text have been abbreviated and limited
almost entirely to those species which are illustrated. A few
additional species which are not illustrated but which are
common and closely related to those illustrated have also been described."
" The area covered in teh Concise remains the same as in the
Flowers of the Himalaya" from the Nepal--Sikkim border in the
south-easst of the Himalaya to the Indid--Pakistan border in the
north west. The boundary to the north is the Tibet boreder.
Southwards, the sub-tropical flora which is found at lower altitudes
towards the Indian plains has mostly been omitted, but a few prominent
species have been included."
It's published by Oxford University Press and was listed a few years
back at 19.50 pounds (no pound symbol on my machine.)
