Ray Stilwell asked:
There's also a 'Concise Flowers of the Himalaya' in hardcover for a bit
more. I couldn't figure out how
concise "Concise" is, so I opted for the paperback even though I much
prefer hardcover books.
It's much more concise - I think it omits all the line drawings that, in =the full edition, illustrate many plants with less spectacular flowers. =I got a copy to take to Nepal ten years ago & it served for a =lightweight hint to the flora, but I soon afterwards acquired the full =edition and gave the concise one to a friend. If there is a chance to =acquire 'Flowers of the Himalaya' take it, paperback or not - the =Concise version isn't worth the bother.
Adam Stainton (Polunin was by then dead) later produced a Supplement =(also published by Oxford University Press), which has photographs of =most of the plants previously illustrated by drawings only, plus =descriptions & photos of omitted species. It has no extra Arisaemas.
