Subject: A. flavum going dormant early?
Alex,
Dormant in one month sounds rather too quick.
You didn't mention fertilizer. Were the seedlings fertilized? Osmocote
is
known to cause yellowing leaves and shortened growing seasons in
Arisaema seedlings.
It is possible that there was too much heat inside. Most Arisaema grow
and
flower in the springtime, many when the weather is still quite cool. Then
they
begin their dormancy in the heat and dryness of summer.
If they continue to go dormant outside, you might as well try forcing
them.
Follow the instructions by Craig Stubbs and Jim McClements in the
Arisaema-L archives
which you'll find on the web at
<http://listserv.surfnet.nl/archives/arisaema-l.html>. They're
searchable by topic and by author.
