Sorry Ray,
have been busy with many seedlings of other things...
I planted the seeds after soaking per Hornig...around 1/19/98. F=or
planting material I used partially broken down leaves ( leaves had been
shreaded and allowed to stand outside ...they were dark and crumbly - but
still clearly leaves....)
most of the seeds germinated within a month...sorry I wrote dates=on
some and not others...
so far:
peninsulae -5/5
tortuosum 9/9
peninsulae AIK 183 4/5
heteroph. 10/10
serratum 10/15
amurense 10/12
amur. v amurense 5/10
sazensoo - still coming right now 4/10
consang 19/26
flavum 9/10
flavum abrev. 10/10
sik.13/15
amur. v. dent. 5/6
ringens - not yet up
I think spring may have come. We had a 8-10" dump of snow last
week....and up and down temps...it was above 0C lastnight...rain yesterda=y
helped take some snow away...the birds know something...plenty of robins,
and the first red wing vlackbirds have arrived - always a sure sign...
I really cherish AEG.....I went from one kind of Arisaema to
(counting some trades to something like 19.
I have felt like a small kid who keeps checking on radish seeds t=o
see if they are growing (something I clearly did as a wee tot)...because =I
have mucked around in my little pots (very very carefully) checking on
things....
the seedlings are growing just fine.....the only enemy, one of my
cats who is always a pain about green things...
I wrote aobout the disasterous ice storm and posted it to Trilliu=m
-L, and we are still sorting things out...but we lost a bunch of low ceda=r
branches and some good sized trees in an aera that we used to work in and
served as a back-drop to daylily beds. We are going to use this, once we
get it clear ...for the arisaema that I have to bring in (until they are =old
enough).....
anyway - for all who shared their seeds...many thanks...hopefully=it
won't be too long before I will be able to do so
