Hello all,
Local populations of A. triphyllum have the rust quite commonly here in
Southeastern Pennsylvania. I have not had any on A. triphyllum in the
garden, but I have had rust on A. sikokianum in the past. This was about
10 years ago when I had only one plant and the second year of infection
it was covered all over with the orange pustules, including the flower.
I sought advice from Judy Glattstien and she recommended beheading it!
So I did it while it was still in flower! The plant came back fine the
next spring and has been fine ever since. It is still the largest one we
have. I haven't had any further sign of rust on and arisaemas in the
garden including A. dracontium, A. ringens and A. amurense which are all
quite close.
