Hello Jaime,
I'm glad your problem has led to the reposting of the old thread on rust because I've
not taken the time to look for it.
I assume you're a new member of AGS or you would have received a good quantity of seen
from the seed distribution in the past. I've been interested in Arisaema some time and
have a variety of seedlings from various seed expeditions and NARGS seed exchange, many
will not be identified for sure until they bloom which I hope will be soon. Anyway, I
was shocked at the generosity of the other members of AGS when I received my first
distribution. Unfortunately, at this time I have only A. triphyllum and dracontium
which set seed.
Which brings me to the reason of this post. I, and many others in the lower states, can
send you more triphyllum seed than you will ever want. Unfortunately, I also have this
rust. I have been pulling and throwing infected pants but that may be futile since the
plant is native. I don't know if the rust is stored in the seed. My dracontium,
however, has shown no sign of the rust and if you'll remind me next spring (late April,
for example) I'll try to find some small corms to send you. They also are native here
(Zone4-5) but not common. I only have 1 or 2 seed-setting plants but sent seed for the
distribution, others probably did as well, so you may get some. If not, let me know
around Sept.
