Some people just can't wait for Christmas, can they. As part of the
monograph project I am updating the species list. When it is complete I
will put it on the open part of my Web site. I am using the Tropicos
database as well as Index Kewensis as the starting point. So far have
confirmed about 120 species and 30 synonyms. Had hoped to have it ready by
Christmas but that just won't happen. I have to have a description before I
will accept any name. What I am finding is that quite a few of the names
not on any list are in fact old ones. There are however many new species.
I have seen manuscripts for 5 species that are awaiting publication and have
been told that there are another 10 species that are waiting to be written
up.
I will notify the AEG when the list is up. On Arisaema trigida, no I can't
find a reference to it anywhere. This is just another reason why it is
important to get the list up.
