Hi All:
(A copy of this has been sent to the Aroid List, for those of you who are
on both.)
************************************
My eastern Skunk Cabbages are starting up and (one) in bloom here in zone
5b Canada. No sign of the A. triphyllums yet, but it is early days. Other
blooming sized species tubers are still in dormancy and unpotted.
Sauromatum venosums are in bloom indoors and I am temporarily without
friends. All my Amorph. konjacs have decided to sprout at the same time,
for a change. My one small Amorph. bulbifer has died back after seven
months growth and has decided to sprout again, immediately. Is this
unusual? All the old roots have died off and there are no signs of new on=es
developing yet. The pot has not even had time to dry out.
_Finally_, the last pot of the AEG Seedx seeds has sprouted (A. amurense =-
Denny). I have been getting good, if sometimes irregular, germination for
most of them and I believe that is because I germinated them in ziplocks
with a little moist sphagnum moss, instead of potting them, this year. I
will send a report as soon as all are up (that I think will come up) and =I
can do a head count.
Kind Regards,
Rand
