On a separate note,  I was visiting the town of Ketchikan this past
weekend,  and was able to rescue a couple of mature Lysichiton americanum
from a construction site.  I had no idea that they got so big,  or grew s=o
deep!  The largest plant is about as big around as a football,  I was abl=e
to get about two feet of root stalk before I gave up and cut it.  It look=ed
like it went several feet deeper.
