Doug,
I didn't mean to imply that fertilizer couldn't help. I just meant that
it's too much bother for me.
Like you say, a great deal of care must be exercised and with no injector
system, no salt monitor,
no paid help, none of the things commercial growers have, I found it a
swift pain.
Once the seedlings are transferred to growing beds, they get some
fertilizer because it is broadcast
over all the beds.
As you can see, this is not scientific and I'd go bankrupt quickly if I
was in business. But it's not a business and there are other things in
life for me. Donna, to whom I responded, is not in the trade either and I
know
she has other interests as well.
