I received four a. sikokianum seedlings in trade earlier this year and
potted them in four inch pots.
I planted them near the surface.  After they had gone dormant,  I found the
tubers in the center of the pot,  two inches deep.  You could see how the
old dead roots had contracted as they dried.  All are now happily residing
in a baggy of peat in my vegetable crisper until November sometime,  unless
they show signs of waking up earlier.
