Seedlings

Hello all:

My seeds from the AEG mailing are coming along and more are begining to
sprout. From what I have been reading here, I may be a bit behind some
others, perhaps due to my more northerly location. (How are yours doing,
Craig?) I have several pots which have sprouted seeds, but have yet to put
up a leaf. Patience, patience.

One of the Arisaema franchetianum (Guy's seeds were already sprouted when
they arrived) has decided to put up several shoots (Leaves? They are just
breaking the soil now) from the bottom of the single existing leaf. Is this
to be expected? Do any other Arisaema do this the first year? One seedling
came up with a damaged leaf which dried up, leaving only the stem. I
thought I had lost this one, but it now has put up a little spur from which
I suspect that another leaf will emerge.
