Diane,
Many Arisaema do like plenty of moisture during the growing season. I use
a self-installed drip irrigation system that is relatively inexpensive
and quite effective.
The problems I've had with it is some hose wearing out after 10 years
and, after hurricane Fran, the tree stump grinders making angelhair
spaghetti out of many of the hoses. Then the deck rebuilding crew
arrived. They destroyed another major leg of the system.
It has been a way of life. Each time a crew came to fix something, they
broke two other things. For example, they came to fix the air
conditioning, put a leg through the upstairs ceiling, left a leak in the
hose that ruined the compressor when it ran without refrigerant. And so
on.
I'm not used to Professional repair. I used to do all my own work, but
Fran caused more damage than I thought I could handle. Now I wonder. It
might have been easier.
