Dear members,
Here comes a short coment about the refrigerating of Arisaemaseed.
First of all i am a blueberry,as we say here for someone who is a beginne=r
with Arisaemas.Am an old Trillium and Lilliumfreak.
Got drie seed of five different A.species verry late in dec.Kept them in
there convulut at about 10 degrees C.for fourteen days before
watertreatment and soing in pots enclosed a plasticbag.Since then they
stand in a southeasternfacing window at 20 degrees C.One species germinat=ed
after 3 weeks 100%,another two in 6 weeks sporadic, there are still a few
seeds growing in this pots. The last two have formed small corms but no le=af
yet.Now i am asking myself, has anyone experience how the seed is behaving
in nature. Some maybe don=B4t need cold periods to form corms, but afterwar=ds
to set leafs.
Another thing is the overwintering of corms you are not sure about would
survive outside.Got a few species from some kind friends (thank you) and
have hold them verry drie under a roof outside during -15-18 deg.C.
winter.Looked at them recently and all where unharmed. It seems if kept
realy dry, what they stand better then even a little moisture, makes it
possible to grow many species without using a greenhouse.
Coments pleace,
