Right now my garden is starting to collect upon my windowsills. :)
Actually, this will be the second year for my new garden and I am anxious
to see how my Arisaemas and other transplants came through their first full
Maritime winter in their new locatation. Because of a severe pinched nerve
problem and subsequent operation to remove a disk in my neck, I am afraid
that the new garden did not get the attention it needed and may be mostly
weeds this spring. :(

Although, I have been growing A. triphyllum for at least twenty years, only
in the last year (spring '96) have I been able to add other varieties to my
somewhat eclectic and small collections. In growth, or starting, are five
A. sikokianum (2nd growth tubers), 5 A. franchetianum (3 seedlings and 2
small tubers), 1 blooming sized A. candidissimum and two A. erubescens
(consanguinium?) still in the refridgerator pretending that they are in
Yunnan Province, China. I was a recipient of the Arisaema seed mailing and
am awaiting the germination of many others.

I have a few other tuberous Aroids that I am attempting to grow. I also
have a few carnivorous plants, some Bromeliades and various Orchids, bulbs
and whatnot around the house.

After yesterday's rain and last night's temperatures dipping into the low -
teens C, this part of the world is a skating rink. We have not had very
good springs for the last 4-5 years; I hope this year will be better.

Kind Regards,

Rand
