Re A. thunbergii:
In addition to the wrinkled, rugose area at the base of the spadix on A.
thunbergii, the Ohashi/Murata key describes the same area to be usually dark
in thunbergii and usually creamy in A. t. urashima. Also, in the ones that
I've seen (I'm still waiting for thunbergii to appear this year), the
leaflets of A. thunbergii have been narrower and with a faint light central
streak (probably not a consistent finding).
I sent a few of you some seed of A. undulatifolium last year. Mine have
finally germinated, but only after a two month cold period. Is this another
species that needs a cold period? I can't remember who all I sent seed to,
but how about some reports?
